After two hard pandemic years it finally looks like we will get a smashing summer. Regardless if you’ll spend your vacation at home or if you are traveling abroad, it might be fruitful to plan ahead. We have gathered our best tips for getting the most out of your money this summer vacation.

Start saving early

Don’t stand there with empty pockets once the vacation is here. Try to get a feel for just how much money is going out each month, then you’ll have a clearer picture of just how much you need to save. With spending insights you're always one step ahead, we help you categorize your previous purchases to give you an overview of your history. With a little effort and discipline you'll soon have your vacation funds.

Set a savings goal and save little by little, you’ll be surprised how fast small amounts add up.

Start looking now

A comfortable amount in the bank is only the first step. The next is to make the most out of it. It doesn’t matter if you’re staying home or traveling abroad, a good plan will save you a couple of hard earned bucks. The benefits of planning ahead are cheaper traveling costs, from train and bus to flight tickets. I could of course pay of to wait and book a last minute trip, but then you’ll run the risk of everything being reserved.

Compare

If you already know what you want to do on your vacation, and have saved enough. It could be good to spend some extra time comparing your options, and find the cheapest one. How much is a train ticket compared to flying? What saves the most time? Where do you shop and eat for the least amount of money? Could you find cheaper accommodation outside the city center? Put some time and effort into comparing and you’ll save a little.

Make a travel budget

A savings goal gives you a frame of how much you’ll have to spend. When you also have a plan for what everything will cost you can start planning the details. Write down all of you planned costs, from accommodation to eating and travel costs. Don't forget any activities you’ll wanna do.
